Rosemark Welcomes Board-Certified OB/GYN Dr. Shamini R. Mylvaganam
Idaho Falls, ID — Rosemark Women Care Specialists is pleased to announce the addition of Shamini R. Mylvaganam, MD, MPH, FACOG, a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist, to its growing team of women’s healthcare providers.
Dr. Mylvaganam brings a wealth of experience and a patient-centered, evidence-based approach to women’s healthcare. She earned her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine and completed her residency at the State University of New York Downstate in Brooklyn. Her training and clinical experience span major metropolitan areas including Boston and New York City, as well as time in Canada, before relocating to Eastern Idaho in 2024.
At Rosemark, Dr. Mylvaganam provides comprehensive OB/GYN services, supporting patients through every stage of life, from adolescence and family planning to pregnancy, postpartum care, and the menopausal transition. Her clinical expertise includes both low and high-risk pregnancy care, contraception counseling, management of conditions such as PCOS, PMS/PMDD, chronic pelvic pain, and evaluation of abnormal uterine bleeding. She also performs a wide range of in-office procedures and emphasizes preventive care through routine screenings and wellness exams.
Dr. Mylvaganam is deeply committed to a collaborative care model known as “shared decision making,” which prioritizes open communication and empowers patients to actively participate in their healthcare decisions. Her background includes involvement in more than 10 research studies and numerous publications, reflecting her dedication to advancing women’s health and staying at the forefront of medical knowledge.
“I believe in creating a true partnership with my patients,” said Dr. Mylvaganam. “By listening carefully and providing clear, evidence-based information, I aim to help women feel confident and supported in every stage of their health journey.”
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Mylvaganam is passionate about educating patients on the importance of nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle in overall wellness, particularly during peri- and post-menopause. She also has a strong interest in dispelling common myths surrounding contraception, pelvic pain, and menopause.
Originally from Miami, Florida, Dr. Mylvaganam spent over a decade in both Boston and New York City, along with a year in Calgary, Alberta. She and her family relocated to Idaho Falls in August 2024 and are enjoying the region’s outdoor lifestyle and close-knit community. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, skiing, exploring national parks, and spending time with her husband and three children.
