Dr. Baker is a native of Idaho Falls. He has three brothers and a brother-in-law who all practice in Idaho Falls in dentistry or medicine.
He graduated from Idaho Falls High School and served an LDS mission in Brazil. He continues to enjoy the use of the Portuguese and Spanish languages he learned as a missionary in his current practice with the Hispanic population. He attended Ricks College and graduated from BYU and the U of U Medical School. After an internship in Phoenix Arizona, he specialized in OB/ GYN/ Infertility in Detroit, MI.
His wife is from SLC and a graduate of BYU. They have three sons and two daughters. Dr. Baker has been in private practice in Idaho Falls since 1991. He is an avid gardener and enjoys the outdoors. He spends most of his time with his family and is involved in coaching basketball, baseball, and soccer in youth programs.
Dr. Erickson grew up in Las Vegas, NV. He attended BYU, University of Nevada School of Medicine and received his specialty training in OB/ GYN/ Infertility at the University of Colorado. From 1987-1994 he served on the Clinical Faculty at the University of Colorado teaching senior residents advanced pelvic surgery.
His clinical interests include innovations in surgery, having pioneered three new surgical techniques currently in use throughout the United States. He also enjoys the challenge of high-risk obstetrics, complex infertility and the management of depression in women. For the past fifteen years, he has served on the board of directors for four managed health care organizations and has lectured widely on business leadership and ethics in medicine.
Dr. Erickson’s wife, Michelle, is from Minnesota and is a graduate of BYU. They have three daughters and two sons and reside in Idaho Falls. He also enjoys hunting, fishing, and camping with his sons and daughters. His greatest joy comes from being with his wife and family and enjoying the outdoors with them.
Dr. Barbara Nelson is a native of Idaho Falls. She graduated from Idaho Falls High School and attended Ricks College. After graduating from Utah State University, she attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. She specialized in OB/ GYN/ Infertility in a residency program in Phoenix, AZ.
Her husband, Kevin, is from Shelley, ID and obtained a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy in Houston, TX.
Dr. Nelson enjoys all aspects of female health care, from obstetrics and infertility to the management of menopause. She is pleased to be associated with a practice that can provide many procedures, which until recent years had to be done in a hospital setting. Some of these procedures include D&C, LEEP, and hysteroscopy.
She is proud to work in an atmosphere that is geared specifically to the overall care of females. All patient are treated with respect, dignity, and compassion from the time they walk in the door until the moment they check out. She loves to care for any woman from the simple sore throat or urinary tract infection to the more complex high-risk obstetrical patient or the woman just diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
Dr. Nelson is a very active individual who enjoys skiing, golfing, theater and travel. She is also a very talented pianist. The Nelsons are proud parents of twin daughters.
Doctor Steven Robison was raised in Idaho Falls and graduated from Bonneville High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University, and his medical degree from George Washington University in Washington D.C. As an active duty member of the US Army, he further pursued his education and training in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Honolulu, Hawaii, by completing an internship and residency at Tripler Army Medical Center. As a staff physician in the military, Dr. Robison enjoyed caring for active duty soldiers and family members in Heidelberg, Germany, and Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Most recently he served in Baghdad, Iraq, with the 86th Combat Support Hospital as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Dr. Robison is excited to return to Idaho Falls with a special interest in women’s health. He enjoys caring for women in all stages of life, and believes that trust, respect, and compassion are vital in a doctor/patient relationship. While skilled in traditional medicine, he is open to new approaches in meeting the needs of his patients.
Dr. Robison’s wife, Ellen, is from Orem, Utah. She previously taught high school English and Spanish, but now enjoys being home with their five children. As a family, they have loved living and traveling in many different places. They also enjoy skiing, camping, and the outdoors. Most of all they just enjoy being together.
Carrie Merrill, D.O.
Dr. Carrie Merrill is a Southeast Idaho native and grew up in Swan Valley. (and, yes, she even used to scoop the square ice cream cones).
Dr. Merrill attended and graduated from Idaho Falls High School Following high school, Dr. Merrill completed her undergraduate studies at Idaho State University. Dr. Merrill continued to pursue her medical education at The University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Missouri. After receiving her Doctor of Osteopathic medicine degree, she attended internship training at the Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Following her internship Dr. Merrill has specialized in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Infertility at St. Francis Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Merrill is passionate about all aspects of womens healthcare, including high-risk obstetrics, infertility, peri-partum depression, menopause, breast disease and interstitial cystitis. Dr. Merrill enjoys caring for women through all stages of life, from the anticipation of childbirth to the unique experiences that come with menopause.
Outside of the office, Dr. Merrill enjoys creative writing, downhill skiing, gardening, painting, and her pets. She is accepting all patients, new or established and is working in our Blackfoot and Idaho Falls office locations.
